Tanzania 8 Fundraiser

This is an incredible story about 8 Filipino citizens working as seamen en route delivering goods to South Africa, swept away to an environmentally preserved area on the coast of Tanzania. Accused of illegal fishing, the 8 men were arrested by corrupt police officers and imprisoned for over 2 years with a $1.7 million bail total for each. In 4 days, the Philippine Ambassador of Kenya and the Filipino community got together to aid in the release of the Tanzania 8 raising funds to help finance their return back home to the Philippines.
